Abstrakt:

The subject of the present study is an analysis of the position of reason clauses introduced by the four central conjunctions because, as, since and for and the factors that determine the position. Reason clauses can occupy either initial, final or medial position with respect to their superordinate clause. The two factors that appear to determine the position of reason clauses are the syntactic function of the reason clauses and their context dependence or independence.
