The aim of the presentation was twofold: firstly, to outline the principal spiritual coordinates of the cultural space occupied by the literary production in Anglo- Saxon England and the ways this spirituality informed both Old English poetic diction and possible strategies of its translation into Czech; and secondly, to provide essential information on a comprehensive Czech anthology of the earliest English literature, the first project of its kind in the Czech cultural context, to be published by Triada in 2005.
